GInbox
Terms of service
Last updated 7 September 2026
These terms cover the GInbox desktop app and this website. If you do not agree, do not install GInbox and do not add a Gmail account.
1. The product
GInbox is a desktop client that lets you read, file, and send Gmail from a mailbox stored on your computer. It is developed by Guilherme Costa. Source and installers are published at https://github.com/G-Costa/GInbox.
GInbox is independent software. Gmail, Google, and related marks are trademarks of Google LLC. GInbox is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google.
2. License to use
You may download GInbox from GitHub Releases and use it on computers you control, for your own Gmail accounts, subject to these terms and to Google's terms for Gmail and the Gmail API.
You may not misrepresent GInbox as a Google product, use Google's marks in a way Google forbids, or use GInbox to violate Gmail's program policies (including sending spam or unsolicited bulk mail).
3. Google accounts and API access
Adding a Gmail account is optional until you want to use mail. Google's OAuth screen is Google's, not ours. Google may refuse, limit, or revoke API access. GInbox cannot sign in if Google blocks the OAuth client or if you revoke the grant.
You must have the right to connect each Google account you add. Do not add an account you are not allowed to access.
How GInbox handles Google user data is described in the privacy policy and the Google API disclosure. Those pages are part of the deal.
4. Your computer
GInbox stores mail and tokens on the computer where it runs. You are responsible for that machine: who can log in, disk encryption, backups, and malware. Uninstalling GInbox does not empty Gmail. It only removes the local copy and, if you remove the account first, the stored tokens.
5. Updates and versions
GInbox may check GitHub Releases for a newer version and show a notice in the app. You choose whether to download it. Early versions (0.x) change often. Features can break. Keep a Gmail web session available if you rely on mail.
6. No warranty
GInbox is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Mail can fail to sync, send, or display. Do not treat GInbox as the only copy of important messages.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent law allows, Guilherme Costa is not liable for lost mail, lost profits, or indirect or consequential damages arising from GInbox or this website. The total liability for any claim relating to GInbox is limited to the amount you paid for GInbox in the twelve months before the claim. GInbox is currently distributed at no charge, so that amount is zero.
8. This website
The website describes GInbox, hosts the privacy policy and these terms, and links to downloads. It is not a webmail product. Do not attempt to attack, scrape in a way that harms the host, or present this site as Google's.
9. Changes
These terms may change when the product changes. The date at the top is the last revision. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
